PRINTMAKING

Printmaking is the process of making artworks by printing, normally on paper. Each print produced is considered an original, not a copy. Prints are created by transferring ink from a matrix to a sheet of paperer other material.

HEISENBURG - LINOLEUM BLOCK

This print was done using a 5" x 7" linoleum block. This block was carved using a linoleum cutting knife, etched in reverse to ensure the typography displayed correctly.

Final Design: 5" x 7" print

JIMI HENDRIX - COPPER PLATE PHOTO TRANSFER

This print was done by doing a photo transfer using a 10" x 8" copper plate. This copper plate was burned then put into an acidic bath to retain the image and type. Using charcoal ink, this image was printed on Rives BFK paper (Gold).
